Fashion Week Palm Beach Review 1

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEFashion Week Palm Beach - Misly Beltinor

West Palm Beach, December 6, 2014 – Fashion Week Palm Beach Fashion Review Day 1

Black Friday weekend was all about fashion on the waterfront at the Lake Pavilion in downtown West Palm Beach as international fashion designers and South Florida fashion designers took to the runway in the largest fashion week in the state of Florida under 1 roof. The shows began at 2pm with art to wear fashion designer KRELwear from Miami. Her collection named “The Everglades” was edgy, sophisticated and sensible in design.  This is no granny knitting! Sets also included matching knit masks and head pieces adding to the collection mystique.

Models were elegantly silhouetted by form fitting knits in contrasting and complementary stripes and shades of the evening Everglades.  A Floridian femme fatale collection perfected in art-to-wear. Aidana Baldasssaree of Argentina featured her recycled art line of Trash Fashions. The line has been seen nationally and internationally in Buenos Aires Argentina, Beirut Lebanon, and France for Paris Fashion Week, New Zealand, Holland and now Fashion Week Palm Beach.

The show, sponsored by Fusion Fashion and Art, was in support of the Office of Sustainability Green Business Challenge in West Palm Beach. Matt Ferrer from the Office of Sustainability was on hand and took to the runway to speak a little about the program and its goals of helping businesses and the environment. The collection featured pieces for men and women made of 100% recycled materials such a rubber inter-tubes, melted and formed plastics, bottle caps and old projector film.

While the black pieces made of rubber were reminiscent of the Mel Gibson move Thunder Dome with Grace Jones other pieces such as a recycled sign made into a skirt floated with ease. Bottle caps made fun accents and melted plastic glittered in the runway spotlights. The Honor collection by Lordana was an incandescent ocean, vibrant with resort blue hues and accents for every woman.  Easy to wear, mix and match with excellent quality of construction. Lordana designer Guerda Pierre is former sewing instructor at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale who has had several students that have gone on to be selected to be on the TV program Project Runway.

Couture designer of the day was Doni Couture whose pieces showed innovative lines some with ties, form fitting wrap tops, wide leg pleated women’s slacks and fun in the sun dresses. Again, diversity of style was the name of the game offering women a collection that will see them through the week from day to night and into the weekend. Notable were the jewel greens and reds that popped while the silver and whites simmered in elegant ease. The last show of the evening featured swimwear by Taylor Adair Swim.

Fashion Week Palm Beach is Taylor’s debut as a fashion designer but she showed like a pro to a packed showroom that enthusiastically welcomed her to the world of fashion. The collection was composed of solids to mix and match with a few earth toned fine prints with a very poppy royal blue that was like a magnate to the eye. The flattering bikinis were inventive with hip connections and combinations. The lines created together the best of the new and the smartest of the not too old into a suit that is easy to wear with understated elegance.

A total of 6 shows took place on opening day for Fashion Week Palm Beach more than most fashion weeks but things were just getting started. There were 2 more days to go. Live music was performed by Sunghost during the break provided by Hard Rock Energy.  All hair and makeup styles were done by Cosmix cosmetology school who keep the models looking great. The Cosmix team created the styles that will complement next year’s spring fashions perfectly with clever ponytails and updos with attitude perfect for the Palm Beaches lifestyle.

Featuring the New Collection, Crystals in the Air, a Synchronization of Spirituality fused with Fashion and Artistry

Saturday, November 29, 2014

On the Waterfront, Lake Front Pavilion, West Palm Beach, FL

AMOURA is a mission-driven, fashion brand of beautiful, high-quality Accessories founded by Cuban-born, Miami Native, Julie Acosta.  A life-changing trip to Egypt inspired the line’s creation and catapulted her into entrepreneurship.  A business was born empowering young women in impoverished areas of this country rich in culture who now receive an income source as well as the opportunity of ownership themselves.  Her line has been featured at the 2014 Miami Mercedes Benz Fashion Swim week and she was a featured Designer at RAW Artists Miami 2014, produced by the well-known National organization, where she showcased the collection and her accessories were featured in the finale’s Runway Show.  Her current collection, Crystals in the Air, is a synchronization of Spirituality fused with Fashion and Artistry all in one ~ a perfect complement to the Fusion Fashion and Art Week 2014 (FFAW), part of Palm Beach Fashion Week. Amoura7

The line of Hand-crafted Accessories also includes luxurious Scarves made of 100% Natural Egyptian Cotton, incorporating Cultural Relevance and Authenticity along with Green Living through Local Sourcing that is Eco-Friendly and Sustainable ~ all part of AMOURA’s Principals and Mission and perfectly aligned with FFAW’s theme this year of “Rethinking Green Business”.  Additional elements included are Locally-Sourced Crystals, Silver and Gold-toned Jewelry, Feather Charms and Pendants as well as Lotus Flowers and symbols representing tranquility and peacefulness such as Buddhas, OMs, Ankhs and other Flora that are all Hand-crafted by local Egyptian Artisans.  There is an incredible variety of crystals available in the Land of the Pyramids that have deep meaning ascribed to them, and feathers in the ancient Kingdom were perceived as gifts from the sky with their weight thought to represent the worthiness of our souls.  Hence, the vision for this collection is all about lightness, purity, femininity and calmness when wearing a piece designed by AMOURA.

Crystals in the Air, the third for AMOURA, is “On Trend” with this Fall’s focus on the opalescent and crystals in jewelry, which are the basis for all pieces.  The line includes Bold Cuff Bracelets in silver and gold with a strong Egyptian Style that reflect the “Big and Bold Look” rampant on the runways.  Color shows to be equally prominent in her statement pieces as this year’s highlighted hue of orchid is featured. From lavenders that soothe to purples that pop, they are sure to compliment and complete any outfit from the super stylish Fashionistas always En Vogue to the Woman on the Go transitioning from Daytime to Evening Wear, Professional to Casual to Elegant.  The collection will also feature the versatility of AMOURA Scarves with unique techniques for wear being exhibited on the Runway.  Three highly unique Statement Pieces will be highlighted with one closing out the show. Without divulging the ultimate “pièce de résistance”, suffice it to say they are sure to “WOW” the audience in attendance!!AMOURA2 edited by JA

With the FFAW taking place during the Season’s Thanksgiving Weekend, there is so much to be grateful for.  The ability to enrich the lives of the women wearing as well as creating the pieces, both Globally and Locally, by enhancing their Fashion Wardrobes and adding to their confidence while assisting in claiming their independence and own sense of self-worth is more than Julie Acosta could have ever imagined.  But, in following her destiny and vision along with her business experience and human compassion – it has become her reality.   In the spirit of Giving Thanks to someone you hold dear, a gift of an AMOURA piece is the perfect way to show your gratitude.  Visit our website for the full set of offerings at, Like us on Facebook at /AmouraFashion, Follow us on Twitter and Instagram at @AmoraDesigns and view our newest collection at the Fusion Fashion and Art Week 2014, part of Palm Beach Fashion Week, as we turn your post-Black Friday into an even better, brighter Saturday.  An AMOURA representative will be available to meet with Buyers and assist with orders while the Founder/Designer, Julie Acosta, will be present and looks forward to meeting you.

Inside the Head of Couture Hats with Designer Rebecca10704432_1491025087819713_6755287947821440372_o

Having a keen and curious flair for the arts at a young age, my journey has always involved the human mind, creating artwork, still photos, videography, poetry, paintings, my talents and desires always encompassed the arts. I first developed one of my artistic hat creations while preparing for my wedding.
I was looking for a particular design, and was unable to find it anywhere. So I created the look myself and fell in love with this, creative hat art. I was quickly approached by several guests attending our wedding with inquiries as to where I purchased my bridesmaids veils. I realized I was good at this design thing as well as loving the process of creating a unique and One-Of-A-Kind product.

So I put all my creativity into building my business and offering my creations for sale to the public. I put so much effort into each hat/fascinator that a part of me is imbedded in each creation. All of the materials I use are hand selected for impeccable quality and ensured uniqueness. I do my research in hand selecting the quality of every notion I use in my designs. I take great pride in bringing my visions to reality when I create a new and unique hat.

In France, the term haute couture is protected by law and is defined by the Chambre de commerce et d’industrie de Paris based in Paris. The chambre syndicale de la haute couture is defined as “the regulating commission that determines which fashion houses are eligible to be true haute couture houses”. Their rules state that only “those companies mentioned on the list drawn up each year by a commission domiciled at the Ministry for Industry are entitled to avail themselves” of the label haute couture.

In The United States Haute Couture is not protected. However I assure you my designs are of Couture quality and are nothing less. Imagine a world where hats and other garments are always One-Of-A-Kind!  My talented designs, my vision will bring your head to life. I spend every waking hour perfecting the uniqueness of my hats so any human who has the pleasure of wearing one of my designs feels proud doing so! You will turn heads in one of my creations and that is a guarantee.
I have a varied educational background and this diversity is evident in how I make my hats as well as run my business.

Please enjoy my web site and feel free to email or call if you have any questions. My hats are ALWAYS One-Of-A-Kind, so you will feel secure in knowing you are wearing a unique creation that only you own.
Turn Heads, Purchase your Designs By Rebecca Hat.
